Allos Lake

Nestled in the heart of the Mercantour National Park, Lac d'Allos is over 2,200 metres above sea level. This natural lake with an area of 54 hectares and a depth of 48 metres offers you a breathtaking panorama! This natural setting will offer you incredible biodiversity. You will meet many animal and plant species during your journey. Breathe and enjoy this calm and silence that reigns in the heart of these mountains. Once parked, a 45-minute hike will take you to stunning views of Lac d'Allos. This lake is easily accessible, you will find an interpretation trail and many hikes for the bravest. All in an exceptional setting where nature is omnipresent.

A natural high-altitude lake where animal and plant biodiversity reign

Go and meet many species common to mountainous landscapes. You will have the opportunity to come across these species during your exploration: ibexes, vultures, chamois, mouflons, fario trout or even Arctic char. Let yourself also be charmed by this flora with multiple colours to the delight of butterflies and other insects coming to take refuge there. In order to preserve this ecosystem as much as possible, you are asked to respect certain rules: limit your noise pollution, animals are not allowed, as are picking and wild camping.
